Tables and exports

Every table comes through exactly as the company filed it. You can copy table data, merge the same table across years, and export a whole filing.

Copy table data

A small toolbar sits above each table. It has four actions:

  • Copy: Copy the table to paste into a spreadsheet or a doc.
  • CSV: Download the table as a CSV file.
  • Excel: Download it as an Excel file, with the layout kept.
  • Link: Copy a link that opens the filing at that exact table.

Similar tables

Companies file the same statements every quarter and every year. Similar tables finds that same table in the company's other filings and lets you browse or merge them. The button appears above every table SECSift also found in at least one other filing. It has two views.

Browse

Browse shows the same table from each filing, one at a time, so you can flip through the years. You can:

  • Select which periods to include, and sort them newest or oldest first.
  • Leave a row or a column out by clicking it, so your download has only what you want.
  • Download the tables you selected as Excel or CSV, in one file or separate files.

Merge

Merge puts the same table side by side into one grid, so you read several years across in a single view. It matches rows by their labels and keeps each filing's own columns. You can drop a row or column, and remove repeated periods so each period shows once. Then export the merged table.

Note: Building a multi-year table by hand means copying numbers out of several filings and merging them yourself, which is slow and easy to get wrong. Similar Tables does it for you, straight from the filings, with the numbers unchanged.

Export a whole filing

You can also export the entire filing, not just one table. Open the export option and select what you want out:

  • Markdown: A plain-text version that pastes cleanly into notes or docs.
  • PDF: A clean PDF of the filing, with your notes as real PDF comments.
  • Tables: Every table in the filing as CSV or Excel, in one file or one file each.
  • Images: Every chart and image the filing carries.

For Markdown and PDF you can also configure what is included:

  • Flag highlights: The lines Sift flagged, highlighted in place.
  • Comparison markup: What Compare found is new, changed or removed.
  • Routine text: Keep the boilerplate, fade it, or leave it out.
  • Skipped sections: Show or leave out sections Sift said to skip.
