MCP server

Connect SECSift's MCP server to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or any client that speaks the Model Context Protocol. Your AI can then find filings, read exact sections and tables, run Sift, and answer questions, with results linked back to SECSift.

What you can ask

Once the server's connected, you can ask things like:

  • "Pull the risk factors from Apple's latest 10-Q and tell me what changed."
  • "Line up the income statement from Apple's last three 10-Ks."
  • "Run Sift on Apple's latest 10-K and walk me through the concerns."
  • "What does Apple's latest 10-Q say about iPhone sales? Quote the filing."
  • "Compare Apple's new 10-Q against last quarter's."
  • "Find every 8-K this year that mentions a going concern warning."
  • "Watch Apple, then show me my unread alerts."

Your AI chooses the tools on its own. The AI finds the company, opens the filing, pulls the sections it needs, and cites SECSift links so you can open the source at the exact spot.

Capabilities

Here's what SECSift's MCP server can do:

  • Find and browse: Find a company by ticker, name, or CIK, and list any filer's filings, the same list the reader shows.
  • Read: Pull one section's full text, one table as a clean grid, or the same table across filings with the rows lined up. Lining up a table across filings needs a paid plan.
  • Analyze: Run SECSift's Sift analysis on one section or the whole filing, with flags anchored to exact passages.
  • Ask: Question a passage or the entire filing, answered from the document. Answers about the whole filing link to the passages they cite.
  • Compare: See what changed against an earlier filing, matched by content.
  • Search every filing: Find a word or phrase in any filing on EDGAR since 2001 with the site's filters, then the passages that carry the words.
  • Alerts: Read your alert inbox and manage the companies, owners, keywords, and screens you track, the same alerts as the site.

Results carry links into the SECSift reader, often down to the exact passage or table, so anything the AI tells you is one click from the filing itself.

Accounts and credits

Using the MCP server requires a SECSift account. The tools that don't spend credits share a daily allowance of 1,000 calls on the Free plan, 10,000 on Analyst, and 30,000 on Pro.

Four tools spend credits, at the same rates as the site on the Standard model:

  • Sift a whole filing: 3 to 10 credits by length.
  • Sift one section: 3 credits.
  • Ask the whole filing: 3 credits, on every model.
  • Ask about a passage: 2 credits.

The Pro and Max models multiply the Sift and passage costs by 10 and 30, and need a paid plan. Running Sift again on the same filing and model is free.
